About CalmCraft
A single-page summary of who built this, why, what it does, and — importantly — what it doesn't do.
About this site
CalmCraft is a single-purpose site built around one question: what would a thoughtful, kind toolkit for anxiety actually contain?
The site is run by a small independent team. We are not a clinic, not a hospital, and not a therapy platform. We don't employ clinicians. We are a publisher of free, evidence-informed self-help tools, supported by unobtrusive advertising.
The site is intended for adults (18+) who experience everyday anxiety, occasional panic, sleep-onset worry, or want a body-based alternative to rumination. It is not a substitute for assessment, diagnosis, or treatment by a qualified healthcare provider.
We started CalmCraft because most "anxiety apps" are either (a) expensive subscriptions, (b) walled behind accounts, or (c) thinly veiled AI chatbots. None of those are necessary to deliver a useful, well-curated breathing pacer or a properly structured thought record. So we built the version we'd want to use ourselves.
How the tools were chosen
Each tool was included only if it satisfies three criteria:
- Evidence-informed. Drawn from a published technique (CBT worksheets from Beck & Burns; paced breathing from Lehrer & Vaschillo; 5-4-3-2-1 from EMDR/grounding literature; worry postponement from Borkovec's GAD protocol; loving-kindness from Salzberg & Neff; exposure hierarchies from Foa & Kozak).
- Self-contained. Can be finished in 1 to 15 minutes without preparation, an account, or any prior training.
- Differentiated. Does something the others don't — even if subtly. Different nervous systems need different patterns; the menu is wide on purpose.
We deliberately avoided three categories of "tool": blank-journal prompts (low structure, easy to skip), motivational quote feeds (no actionable mechanism), and any feature that requires a wearable, microphone, or camera (privacy and access).
What we did not invent
Nothing on this site is original research. Each tool restates a published technique in plain language and adds a small structural improvement (e.g. Reframe Studio uses five prompt scaffolds instead of an empty text box; the Resonance Visualizer lets you compare four patterns side by side; Worry Forecast aggregates episode data into trigger / time / coping patterns).
Who this site is for
- Adults experiencing everyday anxiety or situational stress.
- People who have been taught a CBT or breathing technique by a clinician and want a quick refresher.
- Anyone curious about trying a low-stakes self-help tool before considering a higher-cost option.
- Educators, coaches, or peer-support workers who need a free, ad-free-of-popups resource to share.
Who this site is not for
- Anyone in acute psychiatric crisis. If that's you, please contact emergency services or a crisis line. See the Disclaimer.
- Anyone looking for diagnosis or treatment of an anxiety disorder. We're tools, not clinicians.
- Children under 13. This site is not directed at children.
Honest limitations
We want this section to be unusually direct, because trust is built on what we admit up front.
- Self-report. Every worksheet here depends on you being honest with yourself. Self-report is imperfect. Many people undersell anxiety in writing.
- No measurement. We don't have HRV, EEG, or any physiological signal. The tools cannot verify what they claim; your experience is the evidence.
- One-size-fits-most. Tools work for many people, not all. If a pattern makes things worse, stop and pick another.
- No follow-up. This is a website, not a care team. There's no one checking in on you.
- Advertising. Once Google AdSense is active, sponsored slots appear in clearly labelled, non-misleading positions. Ads are how we pay for hosting and the time it took to write the content. We do not endorse any advertised product or service.
Privacy Policy
Effective: today.
What we collect
From your tool inputs: nothing. All worksheets, timers, breath-hold records, and downloaded files run in your browser. We do not maintain user accounts and we do not store your typed notes on a server.
Third-party advertising (Google AdSense)
Once active, Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (aboutads.info for EU users).
Cookies used on this site
- AdSense cookies (DSID, IDE, NID, _gcl_au and equivalents) — for ad selection, frequency capping, and measurement.
- Functional preferences (local storage) — for things like your last-used breath duration. Stored only in your browser; never sent.
- No analytics cookies. We do not run Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or any other analytics that track you.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we update this policy materially, we will change the effective date above. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 30 days.

No guarantees. Tools may help, may do nothing, or may not suit you. That's normal. Try a different one — the menu is large on purpose.
Ads and endorsements. Sponsored slots are clearly labelled "Advertisement". We do not endorse, and are not responsible for, the products or services advertised.
